Overview
Following a pilot meeting in September 2004, Moving On is establishing
itself as a self-help group (maybe even an NGO!) interested in providing
a space for folks who are seeking to move on from their experience
of adult workplace trauma (adult bullying). We hope that gradually
the sense of being a victim can be replaced by personal growth towards
becoming a stronger and wiser person, who is caring, aware and sensitive
to the needs of those around them.
There is a BCC egroup who receive Moving On related emails, minutes
of meetings etc; you can join simply by asking in an email - your
request will be kept on file.
Good News! Thanks for the support! One of our group has successfully
re-entered the working masses; scared stiff the first day but delighted
with the second... today is Day Three... Another has re-entered
the world of work, encountered yet another bully but dealt with
issue successfully. A cyber-member has been re-instated in work
after a five year battle... really we can't claim to have been much
help on this one but we pass on the news to those who are battling
away. Great opportunities! Newstalk 106 with Declan Carty, City
Edition 12.15 - 12.30; 14th Oct; 'Richard' and I were guests on
Dr. Paul Heslin's program on Office Politics. We surfaced some of
the issues and had a couple of callers ring in. Dublin South Community
Radio FM 104.9 with Wallace Huey on 'A Life Discovered' 4 - 5 p.m.
yesterday 28th Oct Vincent Mooney and Adrienne Crowe were on the
air waves... gasp! and it was very challenging as we faced our demons
but felt good afterwards. I have a cassette of it and I hope to
make copies of it and to be able to work out how to put it on the
website soon.
At a recent meeting, Vincent identified a desire to go on radio
about our issues in Moving On, he felt that would help him move
on: yesterday he had the great courage to go on air as himself and
not under an assumed name. It felt good to do it!! Planning ahead...
We are hoping to have a workshop soon of facilitated role playing
confrontational and bullying situations; if anyone is interested
maybe they can get in touch. At a recent meeting someone said they
thought this would help them to move on - so let's try it! ...ambitiously
(why not?)Meetings are planned for the First and Third Mondays of
each month (01/11/04 & 15/11/04; 06/12/04 & 20/12/04) at
20:00 - 21:30 in SERAPH, 15 Heytesbury St. Dublin 8.
