PROFESSIONAL PROFILE of Ms Pemo Theodore

Background
International life and business coach, Pemo Theodore moved to Ireland in 2001 to bring a new perspective and way of working to Irish businesses. Experienced in dealing with bullying in the workplace, re-motivating jaded teams and overcoming "problem" staff issues her aim is to make the difference in life & business.
Pemo is an Australian operating her business Star Consulting which is based in Dublin. She worked in the corporate area for over 6 years & this has provided her with invaluable information about the many difficulties that face both staff & management. She has in all of those environments used her interpersonal skills to support both herself & help others to function more productively.
She has travelled extensively & lived in both Canada & USA in the past and this has given her a very global perspective. She has experienced first hand a medium sized company going through both senior management changes of focus & downsizing. She helped employees debrief and contributed to alleviating some of the distress felt by remaining employees within the company. She feels that her experience of actually being in the trenches, so to speak, with the troops, gives her perspective & understanding in a truly authentic way that cannot be gained from books or study.

She has a natural predisposition to research, discovering the root of problems, learning skills to help address problems & then educating others.

She has raised her three children independently as well as very successfully. This experience encouraged her to be extremely resourceful. She is very pro-active in directing people to different resources & support when they are facing problems. She also has a strong personal focus on personal development and a love of networking. As a result she has directly & indirectly been a catalyst for transformation & change in other's lives.

She had her own small business for 7 years counselling, Jungian therapy & adult education classes in personal development. During that time she worked in the AIDS area, doing volunteer therapy work with the dying and training volunteers, together with another psychologist, in personal development skills. In her own practice she worked with many different clients, from many different parts of the community with many different issues. Her work aims at empowering individuals and developing a sense of confidence in conflict resolution and difficult situations. She teaches skills that enhance and enrich people's relationships in the workplace as well as in their personal lives. This therefore improves people's productivity in the workplace.

Assertiveness, creative visualisation, affirmations, active listening, projection and straight thinking (RET) are among some of the skills that she uses with staff. She has trained people in these skills for many years and still feels enthusiastic about the results that can be achieved within companies that participate.

She has strong leadership abilities & can inspire people to follow her suggestions & ideas. In Myers Briggs testing her personality is an ENFJ Extravert Intuitive Feeling Judgmental. This particular group is rare in the community and they have a wonderful ability with groups of people. In a group situation she can be aware of everyone, no matter what size the group, and make sure that most needs are met & addressed. She also relates to the best & brightest in people & so very subtly encourages people to live positive potential that is not initially recognised or not used strongly to support the individual.

She graduated from Corporate Coachu & is a certified ACC coach with the International Coach Federation. She continues to work with a mentor coach. She is the founding President of the Ireland chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF). Her motivation for starting this chapter was to set professional standards & ethics for coaches in Ireland & protect both the public & business.

She has worked with teams & groups within local companies such as Nifast & Optimum Results and with leaders in companies such as Eircom, Irish Farmers Association, Four Seasons Hotel, Vodafone, National University of Ireland in Galway, Bank of Ireland, International Fund System, Glaxo Smith Kline & Amcorp Ireland. She has also worked with owner/managers of small businesses around Ireland & is currently writing a book about small business coaching.

She functions well by herself but is also great working together with another facilitator. She brings to any organisation value for money as she contributes so much in her work & relationships.

Astrological background: Pemo learnt astrology in 1979 from a brilliant Australian astrologer Roy Owen who had an individual chart calculation method. She studied independently for many years whilst her children were really small. After her marriage breakdown, she was encouraged by Alan Oken, whilst he was visiting Australia, to consolidate her experience & learning & set up as a professional astrologer. She completed the Federation of Australian Astrologer's certificate exam in November 1983 and officially started her practice of Jungian astrology. She taught beginner's classes, was President of FAA in Sunshine Coast, Qld for one year, lectured & gave one to one astrological counseling. She completed her training with a Jungian analyst, Patrick Jansen, in August 1985 at the Community of Living Water in the Blue Mountains, NSW & achieved the Diploma of Rebirthing & Transpersonal Psychodynamics. She practised during the following years as a Jungian therapist alongside her Jungian astrology practice both in Sydney, Melbourne, Canada & Pennsylvania.
She continued her astrological practice when she shifted her career from therapy to coaching. She has clients all over the world & still continues to teach beginner's classes & speak about astrology. Since establishing her business in Dublin, Ireland 3 years ago, she has been working to reunite the astrological community in Ireland, under the banner of 'The Irish Astrological Community', an informal group. She has undertaken to organise visits & workshops from international astrologers to Ireland. She also has the Irish/UK agency for Esoteric Technologies, Kepler software, & sells Starlight software. She regularly attends the Astrological Association UK conferences. She has a great love of astrology & its value as a tool for overview & understanding.
